Detox to Feel Better
Detox is a process of purification and cleansing from harmful toxins that overload your body. These toxins come from processed foods containing artificial preservatives, pesticides, and other detrimental chemicals used in the food we eat, as well as through skin products, medications, and air pollutants.
When our bodies become overloaded with harmful toxins, it inhibits our vital organs, the liver, kidneys, lungs, lymphatic and intestinal systems from working properly. As a result, you may lack energy and feel depressed, suffer from headaches, allergies, skin conditions, and possible infections, experience bloating and constipation, or most generally feel under the weather. If you experience some of these symptoms, you might want to consider a Detox program. Benefits of Detox can have a profound effect on your body, mind and spirit. Some of these benefits include, overall improved appearance, weight loss, ability to handle stress better, improved sleep, and better health. Once you have eliminated these debilitating toxins, your body will fight off infections better, metabolism will increase resulting in weight loss, your skin will look and feel better, and you will have more energy. A Detox program can range from 3 to 30 days based on your needs and history. My recommendation is a 7 day program with a base of nutritious vegetarian meals and supplements. One of the most essential parts of this meal plan is water. Water aids in the detoxification process by flushing out toxic materials. Also include herbal teas and fresh squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. Before you start the program, it is important to avoid caffeine, tobacco, dairy products, wheat, salt and sugar and any or/all processed or fast food products.
